Forum Post: Loss of input device functionality during session
Hello, We're using multiple HMIQDHDD transmitter units throughout our facility powered by a HMX2050 running 6.0.0.63. Lately we've been finding that while connected to a session on those transmitters, the USB functionality on the transmitter side will just stop working. When you bring up the Avocent Target list (Print Screen) to choose another station, you can see the USB KB & Mouse continue to function locally at the Receiver, and connecting to another transmitter and then back to the original will allow it to work again, albeit temporarily. Within a matter of minutes the behavior occurs again. Could the transmitters be overheating in their area? Could a setting cause this? Any insight is appreciated. Thanks! James

Forum Post: ACS6016
Working with a customer that hasthe following.... "We are looking for the capability to plug a Tripp-Lite USB to RJ45 Cisco Rollover cable Model: U209-006-RJ45-X from two of our servers USB connections to ports 15 and 16 of the ACS6016. We can plug into the console connection on the ACS with that cable and it works fine, but we need to use two of the regular serial ports on the ACS the problem is that it is not a Cisco pinout. How can we setup the ports to receive a Cisco pinned out RJ45 connection, is there a pinout configuration that can be setup in the software for this to work?"

Forum Post: One HUB server for three remote offices
We have three offices and each office has its own DSView Hub and Spoke. We are upgrading to v 4.5 in the near future and would like to restructure this to better address failover scenarios presented by IA. Also we would like to give our users one URL they can access all their target devices irregardless of what office the target device is located in. Purposed changes are as follows: - (1) Hub and (1) Spoke in the office where the largest concentration of users reside - Place two spokes in each of the other offices. Two spoke just in case one spoke fails -Create a DNS entry https://ip-kvm that redirects to the Hub server and can be changed if the Hub fails and one of the spokes is promoted. Questions: Has anyone else made a similar change to their DSView deployment and what if any problems did it introduce? If I configure each unit to point to a spoke in its office (Units-->Appliance-->Properties-->Network-->DSView Server) does the traffic actual run from the users workstation --> Spoke-->Appliance or does it still run thru the Hub? There is about 40ms latency between our offices and we are trying to determine the approach to limit the users latency when initiating a KVM session to a target device.

I have a newly installed 2216 Avocent autoview KVM switch that I have connected to 9 servers. I cannot display any of the interface ID's or server names. I get no display of devices. All my servers were connected to an older Avocent 2015 that was replace by the 2216. All interfaces were good before. I am using the Oscar interface to view. How can I get these connections set up? in Avocent Support

Forum Post: DSView4 configuration template - issue
Hi, I recently tried to mass update number of ACS6000 devices (with firmares from 2.5.0.5 to 3.1.0.8) through DSView 4 configuration template. The goal was to update the Tacacs+ servers on all devices. The way I did it was to create a configuration template from one device which was correctly configured, edit the XML file in way that only the desired rows stayed in and apply it to the rest of the devices. The result was catastrophic!! With this approach on all devices major set-up was put in default status: CAS, SNMP etc. Fortunately the IPv4/IPv6 setup was not deleted. Than I tried with the original configuration template which contained all information but nothing changed in the devices I applied it to. Could somebody advise how should DSView be used for bulk updates? Thanks, Plamen

Forum Post: ACS 6000 Setup - No Ports Listed in Access Menu
We're upgrading from an ACS 5000 to a 6000 series. I've run through the setup wizard, and I can access the web interface. I have a test port configured and I can see the following signals on the port: RTS|CTS|DTR, but the port isn't showing up in the Access menu in the web interface, or under the access sub-folder in the CLI. The port is connected to the console of a Cisco ASR1001. I feel like I'm missing a step. How do I add ports to the access menu? Forum Post: FTP Cyclades TS2000
I have a Cyclades TS2000 that I am having problems with. I keep getting this error: Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel. I am able to get to a prompt by loading through TFTP, but I once I restart the device, I am back to this error code. I was hoping you could help me with this issue and point me in the right direction. From what I understand I have to FTP an image onto the device from here. I downloaded 3CDaemon and configured it, but I cannot seem to figure out how to get the device to pull from the FTP server. Any help would be appreciated.
